Exclamation 1964 Oldsmobile Transmission Problems

Hi just pulled my 1964 Olds F-85 4 door out of the weeds after 15 years and my uncle was pulling me with his dump truck and just when i thought he was done pulling i put it in Park because it has no brakes then he pulled me a little further with the trans in Park then after we stopped i could not get her out of Park it was like jammed so it started raining so we pulled her out onto the road then with it still in Park skidding no we lifted up the hood and turns out the trans was rolling in the engine compartment no do i have to get this rebuild now because i screwed something up or is it just fine.thanks

NOTE: this trans is a 2-speed automatic dunno if olds called them powerglides but i put that in there.

You have an interesting issue here. I would start with checking your transmission linkage...am sure it is jammed. From there, I would get a copy of the 1964 Oldsmobile service manual (Fusick sells them) and start diagnosing. Best of luck.

Sounds like you need to get the trasmission back in to close to the position it should be. If the transmission is moving around you are binding up the linkage.
