manual flywheel help needed on conversion
I am converting a 1967 cutlass over to manual transmission and I need help picking a flywheel. I understand the 64-67 330-400-425 has a different bolt flange on crank. I called summit looking for a flywheel and they suggested a hays 13-231 I asked about the different flange on the crank and summit said it will fit, but doing their see if it fits your car it say's it fits a 67 330-400-425 and when I put in 68 350 engine they say it also fits. I called Holley which owns hays and spoke with them and they said to use 13-231 also. Holley said it fits all Oldsmobile 64-85 so no problem. So my deli-ma is does the 13-231 work for my car or not.
If any of you have done this conversion what flywheel did you use? I would like to use a name brand flywheel not just a universal flywheel and I don't want a late and early drilled flywheel. If and when I rebuild the motor I will be going to a 350 block with 330 crank.

I "think" from your post that you are going to install a 1968 "Oldsmobile" 350 cubic inch engine into a 1967 Cutlass. A 1968 Oldsmobile 350 engine would have #5 heads from the factory. On the drivers side front /lower corner of cylinder head there will be a number. A 1968 head will have a 5, what number is on your head? On the top engine block pad between the water pump and the intake are a series of numbers. What are your numbers? This is critical in order to get the right flywheel. 1968 was the first year for the "newer" flywheel. Also is your crankshaft machined for a pilot bearing? Also the 1967 Cutlass had a welded on frame Z-bar bracket unlike the later 1968 and up A-body. It's like opening up a can of worms.
