Is this the correct piece I need ?
I have read that 69’s were different than 67. Just wanna make sure before I order. Or if there’s any modifications I need to do to use this piece. Thank you.
The 67 thru 69 as said dont really have a hump but you could call it a re-inforcement plate of sorts that is welded to the floor. As the picture shows the edges are finished and non console and console cars have the shift boot mounted on this plate. I would be surprised if the part you show has the bigger opening that Olds used to accept the larger Hurst shifter. When I did mine I had to widen the plate a bit...

Anybody who has a floor shift stick car that needs carpet needs to buy it for a column shift car. The carpet vendors use a mold that was from a car like a Pontiac that has a large hump and when the carpet is put in an Olds the excess material will not lay down correctly. Ask me how I know this.

Great info guys. I definitely appreciate it. I did some more research on the original unit I was looking at, and apparently that is the same unit that supposedly fits the Skylark, the Chevelle and the El Camino. Which I thought we’re all different. So, is this the unit I should go with and modify it to work? Or does anyone know of one that would be closer to what I need.
Heres a photo of my 67 442 with the factory cutout for manual transmission.
That opening looks huge. I didn’t realize the opening was that big. Is it the same on console and non console cars ? Also what does the boot and retaining ring look like on a console equipped car ?

The plate/opening is the same on a console & non console car. The console has an upper boot that fits the console top plate. The lower boot on a console car is different than the boot for a non console car. The lower boot on a console car is more like a seal and is thinner than the non console boot. Check Fusicks website to see the difference between all of the boots/seals.
This is a factory 4sp hump from a 1965 cutlass. 64-67 use the same floor pan
But that plate is different for the Muncie shifter vs. the Hurst shifter. Compare the shape at the back of the cutout from the 1965 above to the 1967 below.
