Cool 1979 Hurst Olds Dual Gate Shifter Installation

Hi all,

Just bought a dual gate Hurst shifter from a 1979 Hurst Olds and want to install it in my 1980 Olds 442 W-30.

I have looked online and cannot seem to find a schematic on how the 1979 dual gate shifter is installed. Does anyone have any tips and or diagrams that will help in my installation?

Thank you for your time,

Glen

And the way it mounts. Sort of. Brackets are different and you'll have to modify the console section a bit.

If you got the brackets and the top plate, you're miles ahead. Yes, the cable is different, but from what I've heard (I've never done it personally) the brackets line up with the regular shifter mounts. I could be wrong on that, however.

Note in the console pic below there's a small section of the console that doesn't get cut for the bolt to attach to the front bracket on the driver side. Same for the RH side, but it's sorta out of the way.
