transmission not taking fluid

transmission not taking fluid
like it says got a 73 omega th350
replaced the filter kit in it and i have a issue w it not wanting to take fluid.
i can get a quart and a half in it and it fills the tube and burps out the tube
tryed to fill w it running and it takes fluid but as soon as i shut the car off fluid comes up the fill tube. have tryed blowing out the vent tube w no luck
