Trans fluid leak

Trans fluid leak

A while back I had to replace the seal on my trans pan.. and several weeks or a couple months later ( I can't remember exactly how soon after ) it continued to leak trans fluid. Unfortunately right now my car is resting peacefully out of the weather so I don't have direct access to it at the moment and I can't tell you where it is specifically leaking from other than the bottom of my car. Overall, my question is what other seals are there that may cause a leak of trans fluid?

Rear seal, front torque converter seal, the pan gasket, dipstick tube, cooling line fittings, speedo cable, kick down cable[if its a Turbo 350] vacuum modulator and shifter input shaft are some of the areas that could cause a leak......

That pretty much covers it. Just FYI If a car sits for a period of time they do tend to leak and if it's overfull it will leak.

X2 if the car sits for a long time mine leaks. People often comment on the converter slowly draining into the pan over time, when it then leaks out.

During the winter I don't drive mine. Every spring, there is a puddle in the catch pan. This time of year, I drive it often and there is only a drip or two about the size of a quarter dollar on the drive every now and then.

My suggestion is wait and see. Once you get the car driving and using it often then make a decision.

My 72 VC, would leak when it was not driven for awaile. It was the front pump.Did not leak if I drove it.
