Hey gang!

I'm changing the pan gasket on my automatic three speed hydramatic transmission. Can somebody please tell me the ideal quarts of ATF I need to replace? I'm getting a lot of mixed answers off the internet. Thank you in advance.

Start with 4 quarts then check the ATF level with the engine idling HOT in Park.

This presumes you're using a stock (or stock-capacity) transmission pan. If using an aftermarket deep(er) pan, may need to add a bit more than 4 initial quarts to get a dipstick reading.
