Just picked up this clean looking 1957 jetaway transmission that was operating when pulled, but was said to have a leak. This unit will hopefully replace my current trans in my 1957 88. Wanting to do a complete rebuild. Just go through it and clean everything up and get it working properly. Never done a complete rebuild before (and I know this unit comes with a particularly steep learning curve) and I’m wondering what’s the best rebuild kit out there? I don’t think I’m starting on this til winter so I have time to weigh options.
Additionally, assuming all internal parts are good/usable, would I need anything else to complete this rebuild? I have heard that some rebuild kits don’t include “everything”, and I want to be sure I have everything I should need before tear down.
