I ordered some axles for my "76 Cutlass "S" from Summit ( https://www.summitracing.com/parts/r...***/submodel/s ) and they are different from the originals. They are asking if i have C, G, or K axles. My book says they might possibly be O, or B!?
Can anyone help identify these and or point me in the direction of the correct axles. Pictures attached.

I have never changed my axles just changed my carrier to posi with 3:42 gears. However, I think your axles are either an O or B depending on the number of splines. I'm thinking you will have B axles. Monzaz checks this forum from time to time, he's the rear end guy here, so he will certainly chime in he see your post.
@76olds Thanks for the quick reply. The original ones are 28 spline, do you know if that would make them O or B? Also do you know of anyone who makes these? I cannot find any for sale that state O or B, only C,G or K axles.
Happy trying to help,
I don't think they specify an O or B axle when ordering. However, their are only 2 options for our cars , the 30 or 28 spline axle with the C-clip or bolt in. I would measure the length. If yours are 30.435 or very close to it with 28 spline then the link you have posted will fit . My 76 chassis service manual does not specify a specific letter code either . 1976 OLDSMOBILE CUTLASS Richmond Gear Excel OEM Replacement Axle Shafts 92-25157

Reason: 76 chassis service manual does not specify a letter code
@76olds Yeah they are almost identical length but if you look where the bearings seat it is completely different. On this item it does specify that it replaces C, G, or K axles with no mention of O or B. Im lost LOL
My service manual mentions that Type "O" and "B" requires to remove the nuts from the outer retainer to the backing plate which is for bolt in axles.
Then it goes on to say axle shaft "O" and "B" for type (8 1/2") with removal tips.
It does mention the type "C", "K","P" and "O" (7 1/2") which will require removal of the diff cover to get to removing the shaft "C"locks.
That's why I figured it would ave to be either the "O" or "B" axle since ours are bolt in with press fit bearings
Hopefully another member will chime in here with more knowledge since I can only go off of my chassis service manual .
Sorry I can help out any further.
Contact Monzaz here in this forum, as mentioned. I bought new correct axles from him to my 76 Cutlass, and by looks i had the same axles as you. He can set you up with correct bearings too.
Your pictures look like later model Chevy style axle shafts. The C-clip end is obvious, and the bearing looks to be the same style that my parents 1978 Delta 88 used. Your axles are bolt-in style, so just tell them you need bolt-in axle shafts and not c-clip shafts and that should be sufficient information. If they can't figure that out, return them and buy from a real driveline shop that has a clue.
