Diesel transmission

Would the transmission from a diesel powered olds. Be. Any better than one from behind a gas engine

I've never heard that the diesel transmissions were any different than the gas versions. Since the Olds diesel was just a gas engine converted to diesel...

Not any better and probably but I'm guessing on this part, the converter stall/lockup may be calibrated differently.

Good question though!

I’m guessing the torque converter, valve body and governor calibration would be different. I don’t recall reading anything specific to the Diesel engines in the service manual.
