Exclamation Correct Speedometer Cable Length & Part #

Surprisingly I don't see any information in the 1978 Olds Shop Manual on the length.

Can someone help me determine what cable is correct for a non-cruise control for a 78 Cutlass with the 260 with the TH200?

I am having the transmission rebuilt and want to replace the cable at the same time next week. The cable and cluster was replaced from a later 88. The cable is noisy and appears to be longer than it should be in the engine compartment.

The Olds manual does not list the length or part number which I can cross reference with what Rock Auto has listed. They have one listed as 80 inches.

Thanks in advance.

I just ordered the 80 inch length. It appears this is the standard length regardless of model.
