67 cutlass with original 2 speed.

Ok so my car came stock with 320hp and 320ft lb of torque... problem is I only feel it when I get to like 40mph in forst gear. What can I do as far as trans goes to get more of that torque from a stop? Kind of disappointing from a stop. And help is always appreciated!

TH350, or, better yet, 200R4.

You need to make sure your switch pitch solenoid on the trans is activating when it's supposed to. It should change just as it comes off the idle circuit and then again towards WOT. The switch is a part of your throttle linkage bellcrank assy on the firewall and has 3 wires hooked to it.

Also perform a performance tune on your engine, and maximize your timing.

You could see what rear end gear you have and and change them out to a lower gear.
