I’m in the process of restoring my 1967 442 and am working on the driveshaft. I’ve seen some information posted on later cars on the stripe colors, but I’m wondering if anyone can help me with these. Looks like 2 greens and maybe a white or yellow? Or is the third one maybe from a sticker? Pic below.
The car has a Th400 auto.
there’s also some pitting on the driveshaft. Nothing horrible, but I don’t plan to spend hours and hours sanding it to try to use clearcoat and make it look amazing. I guess that leaves me with paint. I’ve been using cast blast for cast parts which looks pretty good but I’m not sure it’s the right color for the driveshaft. Any suggestions would be appreciated… looking to keep it the original “natural steel” look.
