56 olds transmission removal, HOW?

56 olds transmission removal, HOW?

I have unbolted my 56 olds hydromatic transmission, at least thats what it is suppose to be , it is not in car , I cannot get the trans to come off engine, it has moved about 1/4 inch please help Thanks

The torus cover (torque converter) has to come apart .
There should be about 30 or so bolts around the outside of the torus that have to be un-done and then it can be removed from the flywheel.

Thanks Charlie I figured it our wholly molly 30 bolts, never seen anything like it, got er done, pulled the old 324 with the standard now to reinstall the new Thanks
