who calculates the speedo gears for 2004r?

swapping th400 with 2004r.

somewhere I saw a thread that said "....... can send the right speedo gears if you give him the rear gear and tire height".... I can't find that posting.

What vendor was or can do that?

25" tire height, 3.91 rear gear.....

Thanks,

Any vendor that does 200-4R transmissions can probably do that for you.
I just got off the phone with Chris at CK Performance 20 minutes ago because mine is a 3.73 with a 26.9" tall tire.
The Calculators were telling me 10 tooth drive, (Green) and 28 tooth driven (Yellow)
But Chris told me I should get a 27 tooth driven because under 60mph it will be alot more accurate.

I've found the www.transmissioncenter.net site very helpful. They have a wide variety of speedo gears and calculators to help you figure out which ones you need.

Not to steal the thread, but I read somewhere you have to drop the pan to on a 200T4 to change speedo gears. True or not?

There's 2 gears you can change in the 200-R4

To change the drive gear on the Governor, Yes.
This is inside the transmission under the pan.

To change the driven gear on the speedo bullet , No.
This is the part your mechanical speedo cable attaches to on the side of the transmission case.

You want to know what combination of trans Drive & Driven gears you have before you
can determine which one's you need to buy to match your tire height and rear end gear ratio.

You might get lucky and only have to change one of them. Me, I had to change both.
