Looks like a dual bolt pattern case but the dead give away of the specific trans it is ., is the pan. The pan will tell you if its a th350 , th400 , 200r4 etc etc.

This is a guess but by the ribbing on top of the case it looks like a 200r4 . Its desirebale but to be built to handle power its not cheap .

The dual bolt pattern means it will bolt to a chevy engine as well. Usually the buick , olds , pontiac bell housing will not bolt up to a chevy but this case will bolt to both. Its an overdrive trans.

Its not a bad trans. Do some more research and you will find the 200r4 has its pitfalls like any other trans but it cost more to build up for high hp applications.

Ok, yeah, Well i see on summit racing too that they sell trannys there too, the cheapest is for handle 400hp, but it says not about the torque specs, i need a tranny that can handle 438,1 lb/ft torque. Well it depends how the owner handle the car too,, but im thinking to Just buy a new tranny too. I dont know any near me that can overhaul a tranny for me either.

How much is this 200r4 tranny Worth in unknow condition? Or in ok condition for sure.

I started building my own transmission. The summit transmissions are nothing special. You can build a th400 pretty cheap and its pretty straight forward. The th350 has a few weak areas to adress but can handle 450 hp with minor modificatios. The 200r4 will require much more work. Cores are about 100 dollars tops .

Perhaps you might have a look on some Scandanavian websites for transmission buillders drag racing. I know there are plenty of Scandanavian drag racers who come to the UK and give our best a run for their money. I'm sure you will find someone near to you who can give you an idea of what it would cost.
We can't give a realistic price from the USA (or the UK).

Roger.

In Ok i see, about the price, the seller have place a price to 393 usd, but i cant pay that for a tranny i dont know working, Well anyway i will see if someone have an th400 in ok shape, but i will google if any other selling new trannys that can handle some power.

I guess a new built tranny might be the same price from summit r, from 800us up to 1500us maybe..in other webshop,, We have a store here in my country that import parts from summit racing, but i think it will be a little expenciver..But at least they can import it for me.

Another question about tranny and torque, lets say the tranny can handle 300lb ft, and im driving the car normal or slowly up to the max tq that is on 3750rpm (438,1 lb/ft) will the tranny handle that instead that i kick the gas pedal in the floor with the rigth tq converter so the engine shoot up to 3750rpm with the 438lb/ft and can destroy the tranny?

If you understand what i mean.. Im not doing racing vut it would be nice to have a tranny that could handle normal driving with some extra power or burnouts
