Trans-cooler lines for Slim Jim '61 vs. '62 Starfire

I am looking to get two new trans cooler lines for my 61 Starfire Slim Jim. Inlinetube makes the lines for a 62 Starfire but not a 61. Does anyone know if the lines are the same or did the 61 have a unique set of cooler lines?

I am not sure if they would be the same. The easiest way to make sure they fit is to buy tubing from your local auto parts store and bend it yourself.

Thanks. making them myself is my other option - its just a bit challenging with the tight bends.

I saw the online catalog and besides the brake lines, they kind of skip right over '61. You really have to wonder how different they are from '62 - maybe its the location of the inlet/outlets on the radiator?

I wonder also. I spoke to the technical staff @ inlinetube and they could not help me with xref or specs from one yr to another. The best I could do is send them my lines and they would mfg. them.

I am not planning on sending out my original lines - I'll just make them myself or have them made locally, so I do not lose the originals.

Have you contacted Kanter or Fusicks? I know they do some brake lines and transmission cooler lines. I'm not sure if they do your specific application though.

They should be the same since 61-62 share so many parts. While your down there I would also add an extra cooler too.

Thank you I will be making them myself at this point to ensure fit is 100% and I will have a local shop flare the ends...

You can flare the ends yourself. The tools to do so are not expensive and are available at Home Depot or any other hardware store. This will save you money on future projects. The same tool can be used for brake lines and fuel lines as well. Tube benders ar not expensive either. Good luck with your project.
