Throttle Shaft Seal? 55 Olds

Throttle Shaft Seal? 55 Olds
so my driver has been dripping the red stuff for awhile - got worse lately and I saw that it appears to be coming from the thottle shaft on the side pan of the hydra-matic...the throttle shaft penetrates the pan and is sealed with a rubber (not quite o ring) seal from the back...so I took off the pan last night and there is that seal - plus what appears to be two spring washers...maybe holding the seal true to the pan? all looks ok - seal looks good - any thoughts on why this is leaking? - I will attempt to find a replacement seal but should I be concerned with these spring washers? Really suprisingly little info in service manual considering the hydra-matic chapter is the biggest one - any insight is appreciated.

Hydra-matic Leaks
Attached (hopefully) are two PDF's from a Hydra-Matic service manual that speaks, if ever so briefly, to side pan leaks and the need for copper washers with the 5 lower attaching bolts. Hope this may help.

thanks - my local transmission shop in providence had the side pan gasket and the seal in stock! all set...now I see all the other leaks in addition to the one I just fixed![EEK!](https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
Anyone know availability of the rubber bushing at the transmission end of the shift selector rod?
