Hey everyone. I just got done rebuilding my Th400 in my 88. When i first started it in my driveway, it went through all the gears just fine. Then i decided to take it down the interstate. It shifted thru all the gears fine, but when i came back home to back into the driveway it had no reverse. Im thinking this may be a servo or band issue? im not sure, i know it had reverse before i left the driveway, put it in reverse about 4 times and it backed up ok.

 

Did you re-check the fluid level?

yeah i rechecked it, it was dead on, i cycled it through all the gears many times in my driveway before i took off with it, then when i came back i checked it again, it was full, but still no reverse. I had reverse then when i came back i didnt have reverse. Today I checked to see if it had engine braking, I shifted from Drive to Super and Low and it did nothing. I think its the rear servo.
