My trany doesnt seem to kick down to 2nd gear when I go to full throttle but it up shifts and down shifts with no problem during normal driving/cruising. Could it be the vaccume mod is bad or out of adjustment? This engine produces plenty of vaccume. Thanks.

 

There is an electric downshift solenoid bolted to the valve body. It has a spade connector that goes to the one wire plug in the case on the drivers side just above the pan rail and to the rear of the gear selector lever.

1) Solenoid is bad.
2) No power source to downshift switch or a break in the wire
3) Downshift switch isn't working. (I think yours is above the gas pedal inside the car)
4) Downshift switch needs adjustment

Hooking a 12v power source to that spade connector should give you an audible click from the solenoid
