CT9578 - A new oil cooler line fitting for TH350 TH350C TH350 TH250C & 700R4 transmissions. Flared line case fitting #M462C. 5/16" Line x 1/4" pipe. Most applications require two fittings.

I read on some other sites that it is not the tapered pipe thread, but a straight pipe thread.

It’s straight pipe, with a sealing washer.

Ho to your nearest transmission shop, they might have some or should be able to order one pretty cheap.

No, the case is tapered NPT. I can't recall if it's 1/4 or 3/8 though. But what you're looking for is a NPT to Inverted Flare adapter. Your local car parts stores will have them in their parts bins, you just have to dig through them to find 'em. It's basically a giant brake line fitting.

The OE fittings were tapered. The problem is damn near everyone overtightens them, causing the case to crack. That's why all aftermarket fittings are straight thread and use a sealing washer. You can use either style, just install appropriately.

Th350 didn’t have tapered pipe thread cooler fittings from the factory. People use tapered thread all the time, and it works as long as you don’t get carried away with the torque.

Your local GM dealer might have an 8651654 that you could take a look at.

I'd be willing to bet that any trans shop would have a drawer full of them.
