The ten billionth 200R4 swap question

I am planning on doing the swap in a 1964 Jetstar 88. What specific parts will I need to make the transmission work behind a 350 with the stock 1964 330 two-barrel manifold and the stock throttle connections? Also, will there be any modification necessary for the crossmember and the driveshaft yoke?
Are there any companies selling adaptors for all the electronic controls these cars had for the transmission, or am I going to have to rig up some cables? The original transmission is the ST300.
I would love some help.

Google shall be your friend!

The tranny will bolt right up to your 330/350. you need metric converter bolts.

you will need to slide the tranny cross member back. it will use the same yoke as a TH350. not sure which yoke your current tranny uses.

I'm running the Painless wiring TCC lockup kit.

you are going to need to figure out a way to hook the TV cable to the throttle linkage. What carb are you running? I'm running a 73 Quadrajet on mine and I swapped linkage arms off a mid 80's Quadrajet.

I would find a mid 80's GM G body with a 2004R tranny to scavenge the misc items. TV cable, throttle cable bracket etc.

I'm running a Rochester 2GC, but am seriously considering swapping to a 1967-era quadrajet with the Edelbrock Performer Manifold.
Finding a donor car for all the little parts does seem like a good idea.

the linkage on your 2GC may or may not work. if it has a location to put a stud for the TV cable then you would be good.

do a google search for " 700r4 TV cable geometry" and you should be able to find the info.

what I did on my Quadrajet is grind off the weld holding the linkage arm on my carb and put on and rewelded the arm from a mid 80's quadrajet. Not sure if the linkage connection is the same, but it was a very easy Mod and it allowed me to keep my factory carb.

The original Jetaway yoke and driveshaft will work fine with the 200-4R. Assuming the J88 is the four door in your avatar photo, simply slide the crossmember rearward and drill new holes in the lower frame rail. The TV cable will require custom brackets as the 200-4R was never used on a car with a 2GC carb. If you do go to a Qjet, get the TV cable bracket from a 307 car.

Yup, that's the car. However, the crossmember mounts are not directly attached to the frame rail. Rather, they are attached to an l-shaped metal plate that is welded on the frame rail.
I was wondering, did you swap to a 200r4 in your J88?

You've got a boxed frame? That's a small problem, as you'll need to weld extensions onto those tabs to provide space to move the crossmember rearward. I have that problem on mine, since it's a convertible. The 200-4R will be going in when I get to that car. Unfortunately I'm currently working on the 62 and the 69 442.
