Telling Ten People - Regarding Edelbrock

I couldn't locate a correct Edelbrock EGR block-off plate for my 3711 manifold. Summit said they couldn't get it, just not available.
I contacted Edelbrock directly and Dave told me they didn't have any way to bill me for it, but it would go out to me in tomorrow's mail at no-charge.
Edelbrock made my Day.
Now I'm leaning toward buying their Performer camshaft kit!

I have had good luck with Edelbrock over the years and am running their heads and performer intake now. However their carbs are not to my liking. Maybe because I run an automatic. I like vacume secondaries. There are a lot of cam's out there that are better than the Edelbrock one's. Ask for Cutlass EFI for your set up first.

Old thread, I know, but I just got my new 3711 and it came with all the block off plates. I was relieved to see that. Anyone know if I need to use a gasket under the plate for the carb heat riser? They included one for the EGR.

Great to hear, not every company would help out like that.

I found an Edelbrock carb on a Ford 460 Edelbrock intake in a junkyard in Ft. Worth. The Ford van it was on had been under water at some point for an extended period of time. I got the counter man at the yard to sell me the carb for only $10 since I was buying the intake and they were basically fused together. I figured I might be able to use it for parts. I got the carb off and set it aside for a few months and then one day soaked it in a small bucket of CLR to see if it would loosen up for disassembly. It cleaned up so well that I put it on a 69 Nova I had. It ran so well, I called Edelbrock to see about getting a couple of pieces of linkage that weren't with the carb when I found it in the wrecking yard. Yep they sent the parts out to me for free. The carb went with that Nova when I sold it. I like a Q-jet better than an Edelbrock but they gave me some of the best product support I've ever had in the automotive aftermarket. I've since bought a couple of cams, lifters, valve springs, timing sets and two intakes because of that service I received.

Most companies just don't get it these days. A little politeness, a couple dollars in parts, owning a mistake, and they'll end up with folks like us singing their praises. It's good business and it's good FOR business.
