switching from m21 to m20

Hello..I am replacing my close ratio m21 with a wide ratio m20..I just noticed that the nipple on the end of the input shaft is longer on the m20..is this going to be a problem when installing?

do you want to trade you M-21 for another M-20?

I'm guessing someone cut it to fit a non 4 speed crank. If your crank is not drilled for the input shaft, then you will have to cut the M20 and use a conversion bearing. Or pull the crank and have it machined for the correct bearing.
