Stock 350 torque converter
#3
Keep in mind that the stall speed of a torque converter is actually a range and depends on the engine in front of it. For example, all else being equal, a 455 will stall a given converter at a higher speed than a 350.

The factory stall speed depended on what engine was in the car. I don't know how many versions of the 350 you could get in 72, but I'm pretty sure the 2 barrel engine got a different converter than the 4 barrel, etc. Also, if the trans has been rebuilt with a manufactured converter all bets are off, who know what was changed when it was rebuilt.
If I had to guess, I figure the stall speed could be anywhere from 1800 to 2400, again depending on what the car was equipped with.
