ST 300 to a TH350 Swap!

I know this has been discussed ad nauseum, but I'm unsure of the differences in trans length....The ST300 is in my '65 VISTA, and I want to replace it with a short tail TH350 from a 71 Cutlass! Do I need to worry about this swap or are the trans the same length. I do have a gas pedal from same cutlass, I know I need kickdown cable and carb bracket. Do I stick with the 350 converter or do I need to use the 300 converter (switch pitch)...any advantages to either? Thanks again for all the help!

Get ahold of Panos on this site, he's doing the same thing.

First problem is that the 68-72 cable gas pedals won't work in the 64-67 cars that use a rod for the throttle linkage. You will need to use the cable that goes to the carb instead of the pedal and get the matching bracket.

The switch pitch converter requires the matching front pump and no such pump exists for the TH350, so you are stuck with the TH350 converter.
