Slim jim questions
Slim jim questions
Ok i have a 63 394, slim jim. Looking at others coments would it be wise to install an inline trany filter between tranny and cooler and a drain plug instead of paying big bucks on a filter kit? And any other sugestions. Plan is to cruise with car after tweeking for fuel economy.{ laugh now but last project 67 mustang 32mpg highway and plenty of snap to woop a stock 2011 boss.} and thats with 2bbl carb 289ci point ignition and a three speed. Maybe an aftermarket cooler? Thanks for the help.
The factory filtering system functions just fine. Maybe change that filter every 100,000 miles or so? I see no need for an add-on.
I do not understand your question about adding a drain plug. Are you saying the '63 auto trans does not have one? I owned a '63, but that was back in gee, the 60's!

Was wondering because thry are said to be touchy. My uncle had a th350 he hauled heavy with. And when he died thr truck had over 500,000 0n it and he never tore it down.{he was original owner bought at the dealership where he was a tranny tech} just changed fluid and filter every fiteen thousand. I know the cooler the better and filters are a hundred bucks. Im hoping to put some miles on it, interstate ect. And service int is 26,000. In the book
