shift shaft woes

shift shaft woes

My xxx vehickle has a TH350 well the shaft that goes into the tranny spins a little to freeley, it has a lot of slop, it still shifts but very slopy. like the PO just striped it or something, it's not the linkage or anything.

what can i expect to see when i pull the pan, hopefully its just a shear pin or something like that. thanks guys

Just a guess...worn detents on the parking pawl or related mechanism.

I just googled th350 parking pawl...lots and lots of images to look through. Give it a shot.
