problem installing shift kit

Everything is going well other than a stubborn 2-3 shift valve...had to force it out of the bore (see scratches), and I can't get it back in without hammering it. I've already cleaned the bore and it looks clean but still binding...any ideas?

All the valves should slide without any effort. They are machined surfaces. You may have some burrs that need to be cleaned up. Check all surfaces and edges with your fingernail. You should find them. Not an expert, but it worked for me with a VIDEO Good luck!

There's something real strange about the fit, it looks pristine in the bore and the 2-3 valve doesn't fit. I cleaned it up with 400 grit and still no joy, as a matter of fact i damaged the 2-3 shift valve trying to pull it out. I know it's a bore problem because I tried another bore and the valve fit. I think this valve body is junk.

The valve moves in the aluminum bushing, you might have to lightly "encourage" the bushing in place. As long as the valve moves freely in the bushing you will be fine.

This valve didn't move very freely and I ended up screwing it up trying to remove it...I now have another valve body shipping in from CO.
