Need help converting 2spd to 3spd shifter

Well, just got the 3spd shifter in i bought off of Ebay...or at least that was what it was advertised as. Turns out it is a 2spd shifter. I was wondering if anybody might have a 3spd shifter out laying around, would you be willing to unbolt the detent plate and trace it on paper and send it to me so i can convert the shifter over. Milling one won't be a problem, just need the pattern.

BTW, when i complained of the shifter being misrepresented as a 3spd, the ebay seller responded..."its definitely a 3spd. Oldsmobile didn't have a 2 spd Powerglide" No joke, dummy. They had a 2spd Jetaway.

Are you talking about the 64-66 shifter or the 68-69 shifter? Shiftworks sells 3 speed detent plates for either, as well as the gear indicator plate.

The 68-69 shifter. I bought a console from a 3 spd, so i already have the shift indicator plate. I saw shiftworks page, but $150 seems like alot of money when all i need at this point is the detent plate. If i can't find one to trace, I may take my detent plate off and try to cut a blank from it. Maybe i can figure out where each point is supposed to be.

I think I have one. I can trace it for you or if you pay postage both ways I can ship it for you to use as a pattern. Then send it back when your done. Send me your address in a PM and let me know which way you'd like to go.

The copy is on the bottom. THe original is hardened case steel and the copy is mild, but it won't be driven daily so i don't see a problem.
