muncie vin stamp

any idea what the 22P stands for before vin #? its on a M20 from 1972.

2 = Pontiac Division
2 = 1972 model year
P = Pontiac, MI assembly plant

Obviously, this trans is from a 1972 Pontiac.

Much like 38M100123 might be from an Olds

3 = Olds
_8 = 1968
__M Lansing Asm Plant
___100123 fictional car's final 6 digits
