More 200-4R questions

Need info on intake deference I have a 70 w30 aluminum intake on a 455 with a 1973 oldsmobile Quadrajet carbuator and have read a lot of forums on how there might not be enough clearance to modify the carb to hook up the tv cable and get the right geometry.
So I was wondering if the intake that they are referring to is a cast iron one and is there a difference between cast and aluminum.
I need to modify my carb to add the tv cable and do not wish to change the carb or install a spacer if at all posable.
If there is anyone that has had success doing this mod and could post some pics that would be great.

Several vendors make brackets...Lokar, Spectre etc...Google 2004R TV cable bracket. Jegs Summit...etc. The trans shops can help too.

Get a CCC-Qjet from an Olds 307. Many people throw these away when they take their car off the computer. Swap the throttle shaft from the CCC carb for the one in your 73 carb. It has the provision for the TV cable attachment. I've not tried this on a factory W-30 intake, but I can't see why there would be an issue. If there is, get a spreadbore spacer.

Went to the local yard today and picked up three throttle shafts so I just need to have my carb guy work his magic and I should be good to go on that point. Thanks for the advice.
One more thing I need to resolve is the shorter E brake for when I have to move the cross member back to mount the200-4r. Any ideas where I can locate or buy one for a 400 currently have a 350 trans in the car.

Rockauto shows Raybestos Part # BC92701 as the front cable for a 2dr with TH400. They have several intermediate cables of different lengths, but unfortunately the applications are not clear. The shortest they list is 99.5" as Wagner Part # BC72867.

By the way, one word of advice on the throttle shaft. Be sure to file the staking off the tips of the throttle plate screws before you try to back them out. This will help prevent snapping these small screws.

Do NOT ask me how I know this...
