M10 or 3/8" ? - 1978 TH350 Trans Mount to Trans

Trying to put trans mount on trans at the rear, two bolts to the trans.
IN the car of course.

Normally I can tell easily by the feel but the mout hole spacing [not a GM part] and trans position interfere.

Both M10 metric and 3/8-16 feel almost right- more than the usual 3/4 turn then lock up that the mismatch typically generates.

Anyone know for sure offhand which is correct?

Running an M10 tap thru the holes tonight unless I hear otherwise by then.

Thanks!

1.5mm
the usual coarse thread M10
scavenged flange head bolts off boneyard GM cars mostly

Have tap ready to make it be metric like it or not.

link sums it up: "metric thread is 10mm by 1.5 thread pitch."

thx!

Are you talking about the two holes in the mount itself or the transmission tail housing? Why not just go buy two metric bolts? Instead of messing up the transmission tail casting.

pREFER FACTORY flange head [smaller tool] bolts.

Holes are metric, just need to chase the threads

I am a nitpicker on this sort of thing, not "messing up" anything...

Metric threads in 1978? Hmm, I thought they stared in 1981.
