Leak

1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass
350
Th350
Transmission leaked at kickdown cable o-ring even when car was not running.
Leaked on floor and then stopped.
Is it possible that Transmission was overfull and kickdown rubber o-ring is bad?
Definitely Transmission fluid on stick abuve full when cold. No 100% sure if stick is correct as replaced without original.
Please Advise?
Thank you

This happened to me once, when I my car was sitting for a very long time in the garage (very slight incline towards the rear of the car). I read that some of the fluid can slowly drain out of the converter. When I drive the car routinely it does not happen. I will get around to replacing the speedometer gear o ring......
