I bought this 72 convert with a 350 4bb a month ago knowing there were some issues. The sticker I have shows that the car has a TH350 tranny. The tranny was leaking and my mechanic said it was also leaking around the kickdown cable. He could not find the part so I bought it myself from Fusick's (TCK682).

My mechanic said that this is the same cable he was able to find and its not the right one. Is there another cable for this car? The mechanic seems pretty knowledgable but....maybe somebody put a different transmission at one point?

He said he used a repair kit to seal the existing cable and it was not leaking anymore but that I may have touble in the future because the cable was worn thru in one spot
