Kick Down on 57 Hydramatic
Hello Gents.
Hopefully some of you out there can help me with a kickdown issue on my 57 Golden 88.
The car has dual quads sitting on it, causing the issue of no kickdown because of different displacement of the control arm. The carbs are Edelbrock, so different to the Rochester 4bbl.
Would anyone be able to help in an approx set up measurements of the kickdown lever in correct position (especially gearbox end).
I do get a drop from 4th to 3rd at approx 30 mph, but no change in 3-2 or 2-1 if say going up a steep hill.
I have reset the lever on the side of the gearbox to measure 6 3/8" from rear of box to centre of the linkage hole, and have the upper carburetor arm/clevis pin sitting as far back toward the firewall as it will rest. This is how I read it in the repair manual.
Many thanks in advance.
David.
