Jetaway to TH350

Hello Olds Gurus,
I'm converting from the jetaway to TH350 in my 69 Cutlass and have found most of the answers I needed in searcing the forums. But will I need a new gear selector cable and detent? Will the kickdown cable to the carb be different? I will replace the indicator lens to show the 3 forward gears.
Thanks,
Rob

I'm guessing this is a column shift? You will want a column from a 3 speed car. You won't have enough notches on the column to get all of the gears on yours.

Oops, this is an original console shift. That little bit of info may help, huh??.

Then you just need a 3 speed shifter for your console. I'm not sure about the cable, but I would probably get that as well. The NSS is probably going to be different, but that I'm not sure about either. 69 stuff is different than 70-72 so a 69 guy needs to chime in here.

The old cable should work, but you do need the correct bracket that holds the cable to the trans pan (the bolt spacings are different). You also need the correct three speed shifter and gear indicator, as others have noted. To answer your other thread, the flange goes on the inside.

Thanks,

The Jetaway (at least the 64-67's did) uses an electric switch for kickdown function, the 350 uses a cable. Obviously the cable will be different.

DOH!

For some reason I was thinking "shifter cable", not kickdow... Sorry.
