Jetaway rebuild

I have a 1956 with a Jetaway that shifts OK with normal driving, but if I step on it a little bit and it shifts the rpms go way up like it's slipping then finally settles down to normal. I can't find anyone that even knows what a Jetaway is much less rebuild one. I live in Maryland. Any suggestions?

Tell them that it's a "Controlled-Coupling Hydramatic" instead of telling them it's a Jetaway. They might recognize it with the different name.

Or not. They haven't made CC Hydramatics since about '64.

If you tell them it's a jet-a way they will think it's a 2 speed, very confusing for most everyone.

There are rebuilders for the first generation Oldsmobile's in the Hemming News. There should be someone close by on the East coast or maybe someone here can give you a link..... Tedd
