I believe they were not painted/coated. I cleaned mine up and clear coated it to prevent rust.

Cadmium plating is silver.

Iridium is gold.

Looks like I have been at Eastwood's site too long, and "golden cad" has corrupted my little mind...

What does it cost to get stuff plated down south of the boarder? I toyed with the idea of having my bumpers + some trim chromed and my booster plated, the guy quoted me in excess of 1000 dollars just FOR ONE BUMPER!

Sounds pretty ridiculous for something i might be able to do myself if i had a big enough bathtub...

Maybe i should drive my stuff south of the boarder and have it plated down with someone you guys know?

Cheers,

Tony

Man, prices on restoring classic cars are getting crazy. It almost makes more sence to buy a chinesium repro for 400 bucks and have a brand new bumper all around..
