Clutch disc blues

Clutch disc fell about 6 to 8 inches onto the garage floor a while back. Small chip broke off from the friction surface (see pic 1).

It’s a Centerforce dual friction clutch disc and it’ll cost $200 to replace it. I know I should probably replace it, but wanted to get some opinions before forking over the cash. What’s another $200 bucks when you’re doing a frame off restoration, lol?

Could the rough edges be sanded down and run the clutch disc as is? I don’t see any other cracks or fractures, but obviously these would be impossible to spot.

Thank you!

Small sliver of friction surface chipped off. Shown left of disc. Ugh!!! 😂
