Bow Tie Overdrive 2004r

Any of you folks bought an overdrive trans from these folks? I have a nice '71 442 (455/th400/3.23) that I plan to put an overdrive trans in (I have a '69 Camaro with a 700r4 that is sure nice to drive). I am going on the Hot Rod Power Tour and would rather make this 2k drive at 2300rpm instead of 3k. I know that Bow Tie has the parts needed (tv cable, etc) needed to make the change. The car is stock and drag racing/hard driving is not in it's future. Bow Tie rebuilds these units and I was wondering about dependability of one of these units. Thanks for any advice. Mike

If you have a 455 in your 71 442 then the 200 4R will have to be pretty stout to not tank.

Check out this recent post for more info:

The Turbo Buick crowd has found and fixed all the weak points in the 200-4R. I'd contact CK Performance.

My buddy has a bow tie 200r4 behind his 400 in his 67. No problems. They can build it to handle almost anything you can throw at it.
I just bought a 4L65 from them and am in the process of completing the install. Let you know how it is after Im on the road.
