Aurora V8 conversion
The Aurora V8 is just a smaller displacement Northstar. The motors are externally identical. The 60 degree metric bolt pattern (used in S-10s and 3rd/4th gen F-body cars) needs only one bolt relocated and the top of the bellhousing modified to fit the starter. Cadillac Hot Rod Fabrications (www.chrfab.com) sells modified 700R4s and matching flywheels. Your biggest problem is the water pump, which is driven off the back of the driver's side valve cover, gets in the way of the brake booster in RWD applications. Note that Caddy did make a RWD N* for a few years in the SRX and STS applications. That trans will bolt up and those motors have a conventional front water pump.
These particular 700R4's used the smaller 27 spline input shafts used on all '82 to mid '84 700R4's. The torque converters on those transmissions are smaller in diameter because of the smaller bellhousing (12").
If you have a newer than mid 84 transmission, the guts can be put into the metric/FWD case. You'll need the front pump, input shaft/shell from the 82 to mid 84 or FWD version. The torque converter will have to come from the smaller bellhousing version, some other 12" 27 spline GM automatic, or aftermarket.
