'76 5 Speed transmission
Hi, I'm sorry if this has already been discussed here, but I was wondering what transmission was used in the '76 260/5 speed cars. I've been doing some research and so far only found that they exist, power numbers, and gear ratios, but I haven't found what model of transmission they used.
Can anybody help my figure this out? Thanks, Wyatt

As Joe said a weak, light weight trans. It also has a weird shift pattern, reverse is where first should be, first is below it. Guys have claimed nearly 30 mpg with 260/5 SPD combos.
The almighty T-50! Do not think about putting power to it! Weak as you can get, but I would still proudly rock one! Especially as hard as it is to get a new car with a manual transmission these days!
Too bad. There was a vendor at Fall Carlisle trying to get rid of a pair of them. He still had them when I left late Saturday. I think he wanted $100 or $150 for the pair.
That would have been great, I missed out on one a few hours from me on craigslist for $100, looked like a very clean unit. I paid $20 for the one I have now

Pretty sure that would be a NV3500, the strongest models came out of Dodge Dakota's rated at 340 ft/lbs. I believe it was only an option with the 3.9, 5.2L or 4.7, the 5.9 is at that torque level.
