This is for people that has a hydra-matic roto 10 known as The Slim Jim parts and still available at certain places I know how to rebuild them not everybody is dead nobody wants to touch him personally I think there's an easy transmission to do when I was in my twenties I took it out of my car multiple times until I get her learned it and got it right now I got it right I just recently rebuilt the transmission my 6398 no problem works fine done everything myself

Nice to know, I'm guessing you will be in demand if you want to hire out. Funny I just saw this thread. A old friend of mine bought a 62 Starfire 5 years or so ago, as a basket and is putting it together. I saw him for the first time in 4-5 years last weekend and asked him about the Olds. He is getting to the stage of driving it. I asked him if that car has the infamous slim-jim transmission (knowing that it must...) He said he doesn't know what kind of trans it has....I hope he has a good one, I doubt it... I was really surprised he hadn't heard the reputation of that one...

I have a 62, 98, when its cold, I have to almost let off the accelerator to shift out of low, after that its OK, but it lurches a little until it shifts to 4th. the rest of the day it shifts ok from low, unless it gets cold again, any idea?
