Motor mount info here.

The short answer is that using your existing frame mounts and matching 2261 style motor mounts will put the 455 in exactly the same location as it is when you use the 69-72 "big block" frame mounts and matching 2328 style motor mounts. It doesn't matter and has zero effect on the clutch linkage or anything else. The 2328 mounts are arguably slightly stronger than the 2261s. FYI, the 1968 cars used the "small block" frame mounts and 2261 motor mounts for all motors, including the 455 in the 68 H/O.

Clutch linkage, Z-bar, and everything else is exactly the same between the BBO and SBO. Keep in mind that the only external difference between the two is the deck height. Everything from the cam downward is exactly the same externally. Factory Olds flywheels will fit any Olds V8 from 1968-1990 and are drilled for both 10.5" and 11" clutches. You definitely want the 11" clutch with a BBO.

I have the same vehicle I went with the recommended Center force dual friction pressure plate, disc, etc I also upgraded the flywheel to an SFI unit.

What gears are you running? I am running the m-20 so it has a lower first gear, so I decided to stay with the 3.08 rear, just curious on the rear gearing

will be using same clutch set up ,reusing orig. flywheel , have to check rear end ratio to determine what cam will be used , also installing front disc brakes and going to 15 inch rims /bigger tires/ also depends on axle ratio
