4 Speed Clutch Pedal Help

I have a problem with a repo clutch pedal. It’s is a repo pedal that just states the it is for a 68-72. I have an original 1968 pedal to z-bar rod. The problem I have is that the original rod seems to big to fit in the hole in the repo pedal. Was there a difference in the rod/hole sizes between the 68 to 72 years? Or is there maybe some other problem? Thanks any help appreciated. I would like to use the original 68 rod because I also have an original 68 z-bar but they don’t seem to fit the repo pedal.

There are minor differences from year to year. I tried to use a 70 Z-bar on my 68 and I remember that something didn't work so I ended up repairing the 68 z-bar that I had and reusing it. I'm pretty sure the rod didn't go directly into the z-bar either, there was a bushing in both the upper clutch rod and lower clutch bar sides of the z-bar

The repro pedals are the problem, look for an original.
