200R4 speedo bullet insert stuck

Hi friends,

If I am not mistaken, the semi-cylindrical tab like piece should rotate with the transmission internals and the cable slot should rotate with it, so that the speedo cable would spin.

I don't think this whole bullet shaped thing should rotate, because the speedo cable has a cap that threads on to it.

However, the semi-cylindrical tab does not rotate, seems stuck somehow.

What is the problem here? What can be done about it?

Environmental loctite.

The bullet is corroded and stuck in the case. If you are determined to remove it, better have a replacement on hand. Almost a certainty it’s going to take some heat, twisting with Vice grips, and most likely some significant damage to the bullet to get it out.

Had it soaked in WD40 overnight. Soft bench vise jaws and vice grips did the job, guess today's my lucky day!

What is the correct orientation of the wheels pls?
A or B?

I've had to destroy and replace that part on the last two 200-4Rs that I built. Who thought that a steel part stuck in an aluminum case was a good idea? The replacements I got were aluminum and I loaded them with anti-seize when I installed them. Photo B is correct but that speedo driven gear is supposed to be fixed on the shaft. Replacements are one piece.
