200R4 Ready for Rebuild
200R4 Ready for Rebuild
Well, I finally picked up a used/working 200R4 . Not sure what year it is, but the price was right.
Now to take it in for a rebuild. What should I be looking to ask for on the rebuild. I know something more than a stock rebuild .
I've been reading a lot about the products from CK Performance, but shipping it there from Canada is not very wise or cost effective.
I have the tv cable and converter as well. Is there anyway to tell what the stall is on the converter ? I suspect it is the stock one that came with the car .

Does it have a tag on the pass side tail? Will have a letter designation and a string of stamped characters. Those tell what the original was installed in.
You need a hardened stator shaft, hardened sun shell, hard rings for the pump. They need to follow the clearance specs and install the correct selective bushings/washers to get there. This is very important. It isn't a th350/400.
Good servo, good band, New clutches, good steels. Putting it together is way more important than which parts but I would stay away from the Kevlar band as they tend to overheat and warp the drum.
Calibration is very important. Depending on your vb/gov combo and choice of torque converter will determine what other mods need to happen.
