200R4 Ident

I just picked up a 200R4 for a tranny swap but I am having trouble finding out what it came from.

The code on the tag is HCF . I have found numerous guides , but this particular one is not mentioned.

The "F" third letter is apparently used on all 1986-1990 200-4R transmissions. This guide shows a 1986 HC trans, but application is "unknown". Suffice to say it is not one of the performance applications.

Oh yeah, in that case no problem. Be sure to incorporate the correct upgrades consistent with your intended use. A stock rebuilt 200-4R still won't survive very long behind anything stronger than a VIN Y 307.
