Check fluid levels, smell fluid and if it smells burnt or is not pink or red change fluid, filter and pan gasket. Hopefully that will be the remedy.

If it smells burnt and is not pink, a fluid and filter change will not cure your problem. It has other issues!!! Also check the line to the modulator and the modulator itself for leaks.

Thumbs up

Thanks guys I know about the burnt smell or brown fluid, I don't have the car here yet to check it out. I just bought it and the seller said that he is afraid to let the transporter drive it up on the trailer because of it slipping and is afraid it will toast the tranny. Are these 2 speeds worth rebuilding or should i look for another trans. I am new to the olds brand as im previously mopar only. Do all the g.m. trans have the same bolt patterns?, ANd i don't know about the yokes either. Also the different trans lengths? Thanks guys for your help.

So basically the car can't be driven even 10 feet? So what ended up happening here? How are you getting the car home? Did they push it up onto the trailer?
